What this website is
This is a static website. It has no user accounts, no shop, no comment function and no contact form. It uses no tracking that would identify you personally.
Server log files
When you open a page, your browser sends technical information that our hosting provider records in a log file: the page requested, the date and time, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, your browser type and version, your operating system, and your IP address. This happens on every website and is technically necessary to deliver the pages and to keep the server secure and stable. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in an operable and secure website. The logs are not merged with other data and are deleted by the provider after a short retention period.
Hosting
The website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, acting as our processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany.
Language and cookies
The site is published in six languages. When you open the home page, the server reads the language your browser asks for and sends you to that version if we have it; otherwise you get the English one. No data is stored for this — the browser's Accept-Language header is evaluated for that single request and then discarded.
If you pick a language yourself in the switcher at the top of the page, we store that choice in one cookie named sslang. It contains nothing but the two-letter language code, for example "it", and it expires after one year. Its only purpose is to stop the automatic redirect from overriding your choice on the next visit. Under Section 25 (2) TDDDG this is strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested, so no consent banner is required. You can delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings; the site works without it.
Apart from this, the site sets no cookies.
Fonts
The typefaces used on this site (Archivo and Jost, both under the SIL Open Font License) are stored on our own server and delivered from there. No connection is made to Google servers and no data is transmitted to Google when you visit this site.
Visitor statistics
We would like to know roughly how many people visit the site, which pages they read and which countries and referring sites they come from. For this we use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare Web Analytics works without cookies, without local storage and without fingerprinting; it does not track visitors across websites and does not build profiles. The measurement is based on aggregated page views; IP addresses are only used transiently to derive the country and are not stored. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in understanding whether and how the site is used. Details: https://www.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/ and https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Contact by e-mail and telephone
If you write or call us, the information you give us — your name, your company, your contact details and the content of your message — is stored so that we can deal with your enquiry. We do not pass it on without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the contact relates to a contract or to steps taken before entering into one, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We keep the correspondence until it is no longer needed, subject to statutory retention periods under commercial and tax law.
External links
This site links to the websites of the brands we represent and to our profiles on Instagram and Facebook. Those links are ordinary hyperlinks: nothing is loaded from those services until you click. Once you are there, the privacy policy of the respective operator applies.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16), to have data erased (Art. 17), to have processing restricted (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). An informal e-mail to the address above is enough. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein, Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.
Encryption
This site uses TLS encryption. You can recognise it by the https:// at the start of the address and the lock symbol in your browser.
Changes
We update this policy when the site changes. This version is current as of the date of the last site update.
